Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo 2017

There is something for everyone at the Southern New Mexico Rodeo and State Fair! Come out September 27-October 1 for all the fall fun!


The Southern New Mexico Rodeo and the Southern New Mexico State Fair will be combined into one memorable multi-day event from September 27 through October 1, 2017, at the Fairgrounds in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

This premier jam-packed fall event will feature exciting rodeo action, a carnival, livestock judging, arts and crafts, food, and all kinds of fun for folks of all ages.

Hours

Wednesday, September 27 – 9 AM to 10 PM
Thursday, September 28 – 9 AM to 10 PM
Friday, September 29 – 9 AM to Midnight
Saturday, September 30 – 9 AM to Midnight
Sunday, October 1 – 9 AM to 6 PM

Admission

Buy tickets for one day at $14.00 for adults, $10.00 for children ages 7 through 14, or bring any children under six for free. If you want to “go all out,” get an “up close” box seat ensuring you the best seat in the house for all five performances! Rodeo, speedway, Southern New Mexico State Fair exhibits, and entertainment are all included.

EVENTS

Wednesday, September 27

The most popular rodeo event, bull riding, will present professional bull riders, many who have been in other PBR competitions, who will compete for prizes and money on some of the country’s best bucking bulls.

Thursday, September 28

The NMSU Rodeo Team will compete against other teams in the Grand Canyon Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). The local Aggies, the girl’s team that is first in the nation for 2017, will be looking to earn qualifications to the College National Finals Rodeo.

Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30

The Pete Domenici Arena will have the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association contestants coming from all over the United States to compete for the $2,000 per event money. You will also see the best in bucking stock and the fastest roping animals.

Sunday, October 1

The Barrel race will be a 4D Open plus a 4D Youth Race for tose ages 13 and under. Exhibitions will run at 10:30 AM and the race at 1:00 PM.

ENTERTAINMENT

Tell Runyan – Thursday, September 28
This emerging new artist presents rock, folk, and country. His original tunes showcase his passion for entertaining and engaging audiences of all ages with his unique vocals and on-stage charisma.

Parker Mccollum – Friday, September 29
This young singer-songwriter has an attention-getting voice and fantastic writing skills. The native Texan’s full-length debut, “The Limestone Kid” (February 2015), was given 3.5 stars for its 11 songs by the Austin Chronicle.

Uncle Lucius – Saturday, September 30
Austin’s Uncle Lucius features songs from his fourth album, “The Light”, with 12 thought-provoking songs from five songwriters reaching out to others, excavating hidden strength, and rediscovering the light within all of us.
