Upcoming bull riding events in the Professional Bull Rider Built Ford Tough Series include the show coming to the Springfield, Missouri JQH Arena in September. From the 9th through the 11th, Western sports fans have the chance to witness the thrills and excitement while cowboys mount and ride 2,000 pounds or more of pure muscle.
About the PBR
It all started in 1992 when 20 bull riders combined efforts to make the bull riding rodeos all their own apart from being one of seven rodeo events. The plan worked and the Professional Bull Riding association was formed. The group also succeeding in increasing interest and the subsequent popularity of the sport.
The idea behind the BFTS and similar rodeos basically involves matching the fiercest bulls on Earth with the top Western athletes for up to eight seconds of dramatic action. The participants compete against one another for the bragging rights of being known as the PBR World Champion. Bull riders also earn a share of more than $10 million in prize money.
