Music, bull riding, food, and down-home family fun await at the 96th Annual Greeley Stampede held in Greeley, Colorado. This twelve day long festival style event is slated to kick off June 23 with musical acts. The SuperStars Concert Series, sponsored by Power Services Company, include five concerts including such big names as:

American Bull Fighting will take place on Sunday, June 25th. This event spotlights those guys who go out and assist the bull riders. The participants are judged on their abilities to maneuver around a Mexican fighting bull in the ring. These are tricks of the trade which definitely should not be tried at home. Chevydealer.com is the sponsor for this particular day and tickets run $15 and $20.
Starting June 27th is the PRCA rodeo. The PRCA rodeo consists of three days of competition and events. Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, Mutton Bustin’, and Bull Riding will all take place at this event. Behind the chutes tours are available for this interested in seeing what goes on behind all of the action at the PRCA rodeo. This event is sponsored by Cargill, John Elway Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram and North Colorado Medical Center, among others.
July 4th truly ends the festival with a bang. A demolition derby, sponsored by Grease Monkey Oil Change and produced by Go Derby, concludes the festivities. There are over 100 drivers expected to compete for a $28,000 winning purse. Classes of cars include:

  • Limited Weld Cars
  • Full Weld Cars
  • Limited Weld Compacts
  • Full Weld Trucks
  • Motor Homes

And there’s more. A golf tournament, the annual 4th of July parade, an Opening Day Gala Show, the Stampede Western Art Show, etc are happening. Such events as the art show and golf outing act as fundraisers for the Greeley Stampede Foundation. This is a non-profit helping to provide continuing education for Weld County students. It has done so by awarding more than $346,000 in scholarships since its founding.
