In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa donated 15 pallets of food to the Ak-Chin Indian Community. The Community will distribute it to elders and families in need.
“We are glad that we were able to donate this food to the Ak-Chin Indian Community and that they will be able to provide this support to their tribal elders and needy families,” said Robert Livingston, general manager at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. “The impact of COVID-19 is being felt around the Community and this donation will go a long way in assisting their most vulnerable members.” Livingston was quoted in an article in InMaricopa.
Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino temporarily closed its resort and casino starting on March 19 at 4 a.m. Though they had already implemented “social distancing” protocol and enhanced sanitation procedures, the local management team felt that a temporary closure was the best option. The Events Center at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino also announced show postponements at least through the end of March and into early April.
Owned by the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is a Caesars Entertainment property. Nationwide, Caesars Entertainment locations have donated more than 250,000 pounds of food, along with personal protection supplies such as masks, gloves, sanitizer and more to help local communities in their COVID-19 efforts.
Let’s all stay healthy and safe, and the team at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino will be glad to see everyone once the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted!
