A legend, role model, and leader by example to cowboys and bull riders

Charles “Charlie” Sampson is a Hall of Fame and World Champion Bull Rider who has shown the world exactly what an uplifting role model should look like. A first-class man of integrity, determination, accomplishment, kindness, and when you think about it there are a million other positive words that could be used to describe Mr. Charlie Sampson.
He is a family man, a true man of faith, who had a vision as a young boy to become a cowboy. For an extended reading on Sampson’s remarkable journey, I recommend reading the October 1994 Western Styles magazine article, “End of the Ride” by Anne Lang.
With a long list of awards and wins as a bull riding champion, his greatest achievement was becoming the first African American in the history of the sport to win the World Bull Riding Championship in 1982. Today, Hall of Fame and World Champion Charlie Sampson is happily retired and spends his time teaching young riders the fundamental techniques on how to be a true bull rider from inside the chutes to the rodeo arena.
Sampson is truly a leader by example, he spends a large majority of his time giving back to the community. In fact, he travels around the country in order to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs and Boy Scouts of America.
Cowboy Lifestyle Network has had the privilege to see Mr. Sampson in action at Cactus Creek Ranch in Pueblo, Colorado; as a matter of fact, the kids could not get enough of Charlie and all of his bull riding advice.
They were truly eager to learn from all the rodeo skills that Charlie Sampson had to offer, as even some of the most simplest techniques that seemed like common sense could make all the difference when it comes to a bull riders confidence and safety.

Charlie Sampson is a longtime friend of the Cowboy Lifestyle Network; in which, he has given insight on the techniques of his own individual style.
Besides, Sampson is as confident and genuine as a cowboy can get and CLN couldn’t be more honored to introduce the exclusive video,“How to Bridle your Horse” by the one and only, Charlie Sampson.
