Calgary Stampede 2014

Written by

People from around the world call it The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

It is a global event unlike anything else you will ever experience in your lifetime—the world famous Calgary Stampede.

2014 Calgary Stampede Rodeo Committee

Not only does the Calgary Stampede have the world’s richest tournament-style rodeo in existence of the sport, the plethora of events that took place during July 4-13, 2014, was hands down one of the most unique and exciting experiences the Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Ak-Chin Indian Community and Earnhardt Auto Road Team has encountered this year.

Why? Well everyone in Calgary treats you like you’re family and their hospitality was unbelievable. If you are lost and are unsure where you are, no worries, even strangers will give you perfect directions.
All of the rodeo committees should take note on not only how Calgary Stampede runs their events, but also how hospitable they are to their fans. The CLN team would personally like to thank the Calgary Stampede Rodeo Committee for everything, they all truly made us feel at home.

Calgary Stampede is the 2nd largest event in North America. The accumulative overall attendance of this year’s Calgary Stampede was 5,145,560. With this being said, public safety is always a concern for many during a global event like this one.

Nevertheless, Calgary Stampede had the best safety practices and security system in place which left people at ease.

Meanwhile, everyone bonded together to celebrate the cowboy lifestyle and preserve the 112th year tradition of the Calgary Stampede as the entire City of Calgary located in Alberta, Canada, completely turns into cowboy and cowgirls.

Whether or not they are authentic cowboys or just blatantly wannabe cowboys, it doesn’t matter.

In fact, employees of all businesses in Calgary, for example, Starbucks or Peet’s Coffee & Tea, have a cowboy hat on with a pair of Wrangler Jeans.
All the companies in town, both small and big, gave time off to their employees in order to give everyone an opportunity to see the 2014 Calgary Stampede.

People of all nationalities who visited Calgary this summer explored Calgary Stampede while learning more about Western heritage and various traditions such as music, food, shopping and entertainment.
These unforgettable ten days of memories started with the 2014 Calgary Stampede Parade Day Kick-Off just before the first Calgary Stampede Rodeo performance.

However, Calgary Stampede’s Rodeo and Evening Grandstand Show is not the only events that took place each day.

There were some spectacular carnivals, events and parties that took place, such as, the GMC Rangeland Derby, TransAlta Grandstand Show, Animals & Agriculture Livestock Show, Bell Adrenaline Ranch and ENMAX Corral Show.

Furthermore, some of North America’s biggest music artists performed on various stages throughout the 10 days of excitement. Including the Coca-Cola Stage, Nashville North, Virgin Mobile Stampede Concert Series, in addition to the very popular Stampede Talent Search with Layten Kramer winning the Grand Prize.

Afterwards, the party never stops as Calgarians threw some pretty unbelievable night theme shows that were beyond spectacular.
CLN is extremely excited to attend next year at the 2015 Calgary Stampede. View the Stampede’s 2015 information and tickets/packages here.
