8 seconds: the common denominator of success at the 2014 PBR Touring Pro Division

Great cowboys, rank bulls, 8 seconds, and Professional Bull Riding is the name of the game! The Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Ak-Chin Indian Community and Earnhardt Auto ‘road team’ was on the scene at this past weekend’s 2014 PBR Touring Pro Division in Prescott, Arizona. Bull riding fans and spectators all had the privilege to see an amazing event!

The show kicked off with an 87 point ride by Scottie Knapp from Stephenville, TX. Scottie was paired up against a bull by the name of Sugar Bowl owned by Cosca/Brown (CB) Bucking Bulls. He set the bar for the rest of the night as the score to beat for the first round.

The next two cowboys tied for 82 point rides. Tyler Harr, on CB bull named Ricochet and Mason Lowe on K-4’s Vanilla Gorilla.

Currently ranked 10th in the world, Markus Mariluch rode a Mann Creek Buck-n-Bulls for 86.5 points, that took him to the final go. Also, Matt Triplett ranked 7th in the world made an appearance on Red Alert from Wolf Creek Cattle for 77 points.

With all these great cowboys its easy to overlook the amazing live stock at this event. Colton Ballard got a 19th birthday present of being matched against bull Mr. Clark owned by Wolf Creek Cattle. Unfortunately for Mr. Ballard, Mr. Clark remains unridden! Any bull you find that can’t be covered by even the greatest riders is a truly amazing athlete.

Animals of that caliber are specially bred and taken care of by the great stock contractors of the PBR. Mann Creek Buck-N-Bulls brought nine bulls to the Prescott event only one could be ridden in the long go. In the short go, event winner Mason Lowe rode MCBB bull Bird Creek for a spectacular 89.5 ride. Wolf Creek Cattle brought quite a few riders to the final go with high point rides.

Even with all this talent in riders and bulls, only one cowboy was able to make a qualified ride in the short go. Mason Lowe won the average with 171.5 points. Scottie Knapp won 2nd with 87 points, Markus Mariluch made 3rd with 86.5 points.

Stay tuned to Cowboy Lifestyle Network for more updates on all these bulls and bull riders.
