It’s what every cowboy and cowgirl has been saying about the Davie Pro Rodeo & Festivals of Americas. In one form or another, this event has been around since the mid-1980s, and still attracts one of the biggest and most enthusiastic audiences in any event that celebrates the rugged West.

Once again, the Davie Pro Rodeo & Festivals of Americas will take place in Davie, Florida (or “Cowboy Town,” as many refer to it). You can expect over 240 sanctioned rodeo shows across five events. Between April and November, every cowboy and cowgirl can be in the audience and witness some of the best western entertainment to be seen. We’re talking about professional bull riding and rodeo, as well as a charity rodeo benefiting the 5 Star Youth of America. There’s also the Southeastern Circuit Finals Rodeo, one of the biggest rodeo events in the nation.

Produced by the award winning Weekley Brothers and sponsored by the likes of Bergeron, Dodge Ram and Twin Peaks, the Davie Pro Rodeo & Festivals of Americas takes place in Davie, Florida, a world of lush tropical gardens, quiet hiking and riding trails, and a unique western theme in the heart of downtown. It’s a perfect mix of beautiful homes, horse ranches, citrus, and cattle. Yet, it’s also as metropolitan as it gets with a busy commercial district, four universities, a community college, beaches, ports, and airports. It’s easy to see why Davie is considered the Rodeo Capital of the Southeast and a welcome home for the Davie Pro Rodeo & Festivals of Americas.

As with the biggest events in rodeo, you can expect the Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Ak-Chin Indian Community, and Earnhardt Auto Centers Road Team is serving as the media team, making sure we all get the highlights of every event. CLN is the leading online resource and community for everything a cowboy and cowgirl could want to know about rodeo. The Ak-Chin Indian Community is devoted to preserving the lifestyle, heritage and traditions of the Ak-Chin culture. The Earnhardt Auto Centers is not just a major dealership franchise, its Road Team has been a major advocate for events that embrace the cowboy’s lifestyle for longer than we can remember.

Come on out to Davie and see why they keep saying that.

About the Author:

Biography:

Peter Varlet’s the cowboy critic you love to hate, until he’s right. Born during a thunderstorm in 1972 in Bismarck, North Dakota, he grew up watching his WWII vet dad battle to save their farm from corporate claws. Now, Peter’s the unapologetic voice of Western culture, with a historian’s grip on America’s past, acknowledging both its heroes and hypocrites.

His truth to power articles are a no-holds-barred zone for rodeo reviews, cowboy movie takedowns, and ranching tricks that work. He’ll tell you why your country singer’s a fraud and how to fix a fence with only baling wire and spite.

Peter despises corporate factory farms taking over and cherishes the DIY grit of real Americans. Politically correct? Nope. Trustworthy? Damn straight. He’s saving the West, one brutal truth at a time.
