For most cowboys and cowgirls, Labor Day means the end of summer and the fact that fall weather is not far behind. However, for those who attend the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Ellensburg Rodeo over Labor Day weekend from September 2-5, they’ll have one last chance to enjoy some of the summer’s best rodeo action. This year’s event, expected to be bigger and better than ever, will feature some of the world’s best riders, wrestlers, and ropers who have converged on this PRCA Pro Rodeo event in search of fame and fortune.

Like most of the nation’s great rodeos, the Ellensburg rodeo has a rich and varied history. As only just a small event in 1923 with only a few competitors, the rodeo has grown over the past 93 years into one of America’s Top 10 rodeos. Thanks to the hard work of local volunteers year after year, it’s no wonder some of the world’s top rodeo athletes mark this PRCA Pro Rodeo on their calendars as one of their must-attend events. With prize money exceeding $400,000, this year’s competition is sure to bring out the best in everyone.
Event Coverage
To showcase just how special the Ellensburg rodeo is to fans in Washington, coverage of the event is expected to be as big as ever this year. Along with the Ak-Chin Indian Community and the Earnhardt Auto Centers Road Team covering the events and interacting with the fans, the Cowboy Lifestyle Network will also be giving cowboys and cowgirls in-depth coverage of the events each night. Combining great interviews, exciting videos, and candid photos of the action, CLN will again lead the way in putting this exciting and traditional rodeo on display in its own unique way.
Rodeo Events
As with any great rodeo, this Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association competition will have plenty of exciting events to keep fans thrilled from beginning to end. Some of the most popular events scheduled include:
–Steer Wrestling
–Bronc Riding
–Team Roping
–Barrel Racing
For true rodeo fans, they know just how much skill and expertise it takes for PRCA Pro Rodeo competitors to excel in these and many other events. Because of that, the fans at Ellensburg are known for their knowledge and appreciation of rodeos, and are proud to show their appreciation each and every year.
