To keep the tradition alive, rodeo fans in Arizona will head to Globe on March 11th and 12th to enjoy the GCPRA Copper Dust Stampede. Held at the Gila County Fairgrounds, this year’s rodeo is expected to be bigger and better than ever before, with more events, prize money, and activities for fans on the schedule. What Makes the GCPRA Copper Dust Event So Much Fun?
For cowboys and cowgirls who come to Globe for this event, they simply have more fun than they ever imagined. Beginning Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m., fans will be able to witness the annual parade, along with various vendors selling tasty food and other souvenirs. And for those who want to trade their boots for some dancing shoes, a free dance will take place after the rodeo featuring the Harry Luge Band.
GCPRA Copper Dust Stampede Events
Along with the numerous fun activities taking place at the fairgrounds, the Stampede will have plenty of events that highlight the skills of each competitor. Among the events scheduled to take place are:
- Steer wrestling
- Team roping
- Saddle bronc riding
- Pee-wee barrels
- Junior barrel racing
- Bull riding
- Calf roping
And to make things even more interesting, an additional $5,000 in prize money will be on the line, making each competitor work even harder to claim the top prize.
