[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s springtime in the Valley, which means it’s time for some honored traditions – beautiful weather, spring training baseball and the Parada del Sol rodeo.
The 64th annual Parada del Sol Rodeo is March 9, 10, 11 and 12 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road. The PRCA-sanctioned rodeo happens at 7 p.m. on March 10 and 11, and 2 p.m. on March 12. Thursday, March 9 showcases bullriding only, starting at 7 p.m.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”33019″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” >Many sponsors make the rodeo happen each year, and Saba’s Western Wear stores is one of the longest-term sponsors of this event. Saba’s offers a sweet deal for this year’s rodeo. When you purchase any Wrangler product at Saba’s, you’ll receive a voucher good for one free rodeo ticket!
Each day of the rodeo promises thrills. Thursday pits Arizona’s best bull riders against the toughest bulls in the state. You’ll be just a few feet away from the action! Don’t miss the rest of the events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, sheep riding, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding. Each day features specialty acts.
After a full evening of rodeo events, mosey on over to the Coors HoeDown on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. This event includes live entertainment and fun for guests age 21 and over. And the Parada del Sol Rodeo Dance will be Saturday, March 11 at 9 p.m. at Handlebar J in Scottsdale. She attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale and then Arizona State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Similarly to the protagonist in *The Devil Wears Prada*, Carolyn moved to New York City right after college. She started working for the fashion magazine company Conde Nast but never transitioned to the dark side. After a few years, she left New York in the rearview mirror and returned to her home state, taking a reporter job at the *Apache Junction Independent*. With over 30 years of freelance writing experience, Carolyn especially enjoys writing about community events and profiling individuals who are making a difference in their communities. She had the pleasure of interviewing a variety of cowboy personalities for an article she wrote for the *Scottsdale Independent* about the history of DC Ranch and its roots as a working ranch. Now, her Western adventures with CLN have her diving into the rugged automotive scene, exploring the trucks and rigs cowboys rely on for work, home, and play, a niche where grit meets horsepower. She works at Raising Special Kids, a nonprofit resource center for families of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Carolyn also volunteers with the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix. Carolyn believes that everyone has a story, and she loves connecting with others to hear their stories. She’s dedicated to ethical journalism and accurate reporting, which shines through in her storytelling.
