Every trim level except the base LS sports a new 12-inch digital gauge, up from last year’s 8-inch display, says Auto Blog in a review. In addition, those same trim levels include navigation as standard within the central infotainment touch screen.

Inside, the 2022 Tahoe and Suburban look “completely different” from the Silverado pickup truck, “a very good thing,” Auto Blog notes. In addition, the vehicles drive well and each has a “quality interior,” says Auto Blog of their test drives of the different Tahoe and Suburban configurations.

Safety features include lane-keeping assist and parking sensors, now standard, and Reverse Automatic Braking is added to the top trim levels’ Enhanced Display and Alert package. Also, the 6.2-liter V8 option is now available in the Z71, RST and Premier trim levels.

As full-size SUVs, the Tahoe and Suburban both bulked up after last year’s redesign. The Tahoe gained 6.7 inches of length and 4.9 inches of wheelbase, while the Suburban gained 1.3 inches of length and 4.1 inches of wheelbase. In addition, the Tahoe now offers 3 more inches of legroom in the second row and 10.1 inches in the third row, while the Suburban gains 2 inches of legroom. Even tall adults can sit comfortably in the third row now, Auto Blog says, noting that “few other vehicles can top the Tahoe (or Suburban) for third-row space.”

Both models also offer substantial cargo space compared to previous models. The Tahoe provides 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, while the Suburban offers a hefty 41.5 cubic feet behind the third row. For both vehicles, Chevy’s switch last year to an independent rear suspension significantly lowered the floor and the liftover height, says Auto Blog.
