Picture this. It’s the Fourth of July weekend, and all you want to do is celebrate our country. We know just where you need to be, and it’s at the Livingston Roundup in Livington, Montana, from July 2nd to July 4th! This historic rodeo, which started in the 1920s, is always a great show and is often called one of Montana’s best PRCA events. Tickets sell out fast, so you’ll want to get yours early.
Spectators will see events like steer wrestling, barrel racing, saddle bronc, bareback riding, tie-down roping, and more. The winner of each of these events will go home with a significant purse helping to ensure great competitors enter, meaning an excellent show for you. Each night of the performance, there are true talents who will sing our national anthem. The Livingston Roundup Rodeo Association is pleased to announce this year’s singers for the National Anthem: July 2nd Abby Middleton, July 3rd. Marie Duncan, and July 4th. Brent Harrison. Adding to the excitement, there is a firework extravaganza to celebrate our country’s independence after each performance.
June 30th and July 1st are the starts of the slack, with the big shows kicking off on July 2nd. Get there early to attend the Livingston Chamber of Commerce Parade at 3 pm and then grab a bit to eat before hitting the first performance at 8 pm.
July 3rd is another exciting day that you won’t want to miss. Starting off with the Kiddie Rodeo at 2 pm, this is also when you can get the Rodeo Queens to autograph your hat. The performance kicks off at 8 pm and is the night to wear pink. The rodeo and contestants remember they are “Tough Enough to Wear Pink,” which helps to promote breast cancer awareness and fundraising to benefit the local community.
Plan to be out and about early on July 4th as the barrel racing slack kicks off at 11 am. In a true show of respect and appreciation, the performance that evening is dedicated to our military personnel, starting at 8 pm. This is also the night where Miss Livingston Roundup is crowned.
After each performance, a firework display happens, so don’t get out of your seats too quickly when the arena’s action ends.
According to the Livingston Roundup Facebook, the only places left to purchase tickets are the Livingston Chamber of Commerce, Yellowstone Sporting Goods, and Murdoch’s in Livingston, Bozeman, and Four Corners. Another year and another great rodeo are coming your way. Don’t miss your chance to truly celebrate freedom at the Livingston Roundup!
