GMC is already taking reservations for this model, announced in April 2021. The GMC SUV’s Ultium battery technology makes for quick charging times, and a massive battery pack provides an estimated range of 300+ miles, says Car and Driver. The most powerful Hummer EV SUV showcases a zero-to-60-mph time of approximately 2.5 seconds. Inside, a mix of high-tech tools are sure to please, and removable roof panels create an open-air experience. Users can take off the four transparent Sky Panels and the I-bar above the front-seat passengers.

Compared to the Hummer EV pickup truck, this latest SUV will offer a shorter wheelbase, which should make it more maneuverable in parking lots and other tight spaces, says Car and Driver. It also sports favorite off-road features from the truck version, including four-wheel steering with CrabWalk and an adjustable air suspension with Extract mode that can raise it six inches. An optional Extreme Off Road package brings special hardware, including 18-inch wheels on 35-inch all-terrain tires, extra underbody protection, low-mountain cameras, enhanced axles, a locking front differential and rear motors.

Car and Driver calls the interior of the 2024 Hummer EV “part rugged and part Sci-Fi.” A three-dimensional dashboard offers vertical and horizontal air vents and a pair of large displays, including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. With a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging sites, you’ll stay connected anywhere. An onboard generator can charge all kinds of equipment, including other electric vehicles.

Along with storage under the load floor, the SUV Hummer boasts 82 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seat folded, notes Car and Driver. Safety features are expected to include GM’s Super Cruise, with hands-free driving on the highway.
