With year 59 upon us, the Academy of Country Music Awards is back on May 16th in Frisco, Texas at the famed Ford Center at The Star. Hosted by the one-and-only Reba McEntire herself, the 2024 ACM Awards will recognize the countless hours, endless contributions, and tireless commitment artists, instrumentalists, producers, engineers, promoters, radio hosts, songwriters, venues, touring staff, and more have put in to create another incredible year of country music.
Get your dancin’ boots on cause CLN is jumpin’ on in and ready to “Boot Scootin’ Boogie!”
With humble beginnings in 1964, the Academy of Country Music® began as a means of celebrating Country and Western music and musicians primarily based on the West Coast. Founded by Tommy Wiggins, Eddie Miller, Mickey and Chris Christensen, the academy aimed to celebrate West Coast artists such as Glen Campbell, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Tex Williams, and more. As the years went on, the first official award show took place in 1966, hit the TV airwaves in ‘72, and since then has only continued to grow, propelling country music into the spotlight. Today the ACM Awards are celebrating their 59th year in style in The Lone Star State.
