Since 1991, the Frontier Rodeo Company has been raising the finest cattle for some of the best PRCA tournaments across the country. The Mid-Winter Fair and Rodeo is one of the first big events of the year for this Oklahoma company, which is considered to be the most prestigious purveyor of bulls and broncs from Florida to Utah. Frontier Rodeo has earned distinctions such as PRCA Horse of the Year on several occasions. Just like he does every year, owner Jerry Nelson is expected to be on hand at the Lafayette Fair and Rodeo, where he will likely strike up conversations with rodeo fans. For this year’s rodeo, Nelson has selected some of the rankest bulls and wildest horses in his stock.
Tickets for the Mid-Winter Fair and Rodeo start at $11 for children in seating section located near the roping chutes. Tiny rodeo fans under the age of two have free admission and seating as long as they stay on the laps of their parents and guardians. Tickets for the best seats in the Coliseum cost $22 for all ages. VIP experience packages are available for $50; they include preferential seating, parking and access to complimentary snacks in the hospitality tent area.
