As 2021 starts out a little bit different this year when it comes to rodeo, it’s time to pull on your boots to enjoy the 76th Annual Yuma Jaycees Silver Spur Rodeo 2021 takes the stage at the Yuma County Fairgrounds. With 75 years of history beneath them, Silver Spur Rodeo, Inc. is proud to bring PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) action to the desert once again! This year’s rodeo is presented by Rain for Rent®, a world-wide recognized “leading provider of temporary liquid handling solutions including pumping filtration and spill containment” (www.rainforrent.com).
From barrel racing to bulls and all the action in-between, the 76th Annual Yuma Jaycees Silver Spur Rodeo has all your favorite PRCA rodeo events. If you can’t make it one day, don’t worry because you have three days of rodeo action you can attend. The show starts on Friday, April 16th when gates open at 2pm and go on until April 18th. The first show will begin at 4pm and is Senior Appreciation Day and “Man Up Crusade Day.” Wear your purple rodeo shirts to support a cause that is bringing awareness to and fighting against domestic violence.
Saturday, April 17th, marks day two of rodeo action. Hit the rodeo grounds early at 2pm and prepare for another stellar rodeo performance at 4pm. Come out and enjoy the 2nd performance of the 76th annual PRCA sanctioned Silver Spur Rodeo!! Gates open at 2:00 p.m. and the rodeo starts at 4:00 p.m. Visit all the vendors, enjoy live entertainment and visit the food vendors prior to the rodeo. Great livestock, clowns, bullfighters, and special entertainment during the rodeo performance. This rodeo performance is all about Tough Enough to Wear Pink. Wear your pink rodeo shirts to support the fight against breast cancer! The after-party resumes at Whiskey Road Saloon that evening.
The final day of the rodeo will take place Sunday, April 18, so come out and enjoy the 3rd and final performance of the 76th annual PRCA sanctioned Silver Spur Rodeo! Gates open at 12:00 p.m. and the rodeo starts at 2:00 p.m. Visit all the vendors, enjoy live entertainment and visit the food vendors prior to the rodeo. This performance is RAM Rodeo Day and Military Appreciation Day (wear red, white, and blue). Championship rounds will take place and the top cowboys and cowgirls from the weekend’s activities will be awarded their trophy buckles.
Since the 1940s Yuma, Arizona has been celebrating and preserving Arizona’s western heritage through the Yuma Jaycees Silver Spur Rodeo. Through service, donation, and involvement in the community and its youth, this tradition has continued and grown throughout the years.
