GCPRA Lost Dutchman Days Rodeo in Apache Junction, AZ

Come on out to one of Apache Junction’s main western sports events! The 2017 GCPRA Lost Dutchman Days Rodeo begins February 24 at Rodeo Park!


Western sports fans are in for a treat when the 2017 GCPRA Lost Dutchman Days Rodeo begins in Apache Junction, Arizona on February 24. Rodeo Park serves as the location for all of the main western sports events and attractions. The gates open at 9:00 A.M. for the three day festivities. However, the main events will not commence until 1:30 P.M. The exciting selection of competitions include:

  • Bareback riding
  • Breakaway roping
  • Bull riding
  • Calf & Team roping
  • Ladies barrel racing
  • Saddle Bronc riding
  • Steer wrestling

To the delight of family and friends, budding rodeo stars will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills during the Mutton Busting competition. The 2017 Miss Lost Dutchman Days Pageant Queen and her court will also be crowned.

Special Entertainment

In addition to the scheduled GCPRA Lost Dutchman Days sporting events, 25-year-old Rider Kiesner plans on providing a special presentation of his amazing skills. He boasts of being a fifth-generation horse trainer and grew up in a rodeo household. However, Rider’s unique talents include gun-spinning, roping and whip-cracking.
Along with the rodeo and Rider Kiesner, visitors have the chance to see live entertainment on multiple stages. There will also be a carnival with more than 30 rides, a midway, and numerous vendors plan on attending.

Parade

At 9:00 A.M. On Saturday, downtown Apache Junction is the place to be to see the annual Lost Dutchman Days Parade. The procession begins on Phelps, ventures west to Ironwood and returns. More than 120 entries are planning to take part in the event, which is free to the public.

Arts and Crafts Fair

The annual Soroptimist Arts & Crafts Fair is another popular Apache Junction, Arizona attraction. The Pinal County Complex serves as the location for the Saturday event, which takes place from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Dance

The Rage-N-River Band performs live during the adults-only dance from 7:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. on Saturday night. The party takes place at the Elks Lodge 2349, which is located on the corner of Lost Dutchman and Highway 88. Admission is $5.00 per person.

If unable to attend the GCPRA Apache Junction, Arizona festivities, tune into the Cowboy Lifestyle Network for up to date coverage of all the competitions and fun. The Ak-Chin Indian Community, Earnhardt Auto Centers along with the Papa John’s Pizza Road Team also plan on attending and broadcasting events as they unfold.
