[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Ak-Chin Indian Community always brings the best entertainment for the annual Masik Tas Celebration. Masik Tas is a time for Community members to celebrate and commemorate the formal recognition of the Ak-Chin Indian Community. The celebration includes a full line-up of events including a parade, golf tournament, basketball tournament and carnival.
The 2015 Masik Tas concert lineup includes Tejano music superstar AJ Castillo. This free concert is open to the public and will take place on Dec. 11 at 7 pm on the main stage of the Ak-Chin Circle Field. There will be a meet and greet with Mr. Castillo to follow his performance.
According to his website, AJ Castillo started playing the accordion at ten years old after taking an interest in his grandfather’s instruments. By the age of 13, he was playing professionally with his family’s band. Into his late teens and early twenties, Mr. Castillo performed and recorded with some of the most revered Tejano music artists in the industry before breaking out on his own, and began his way to not only Tejano music but much, much more sounds that make his music his own.
He is an amazing performer whose high energy level and beautiful, custom-made HOHNER Accordions make for a show you’ll never forget! Mr. Castillo has won multiple Tejano Music Awards for his unique sound that blends Cumbias, R&B, Jazz and Cajun music influences with traditional Tejano music. Mr. Castillo frequently collaborates with other well-known artists and has released four albums.
The Ak-Chin Indian Community invites community members and Tejano music lovers to attend this free concert as part of the 2015 Masik Tas Celebration. Stay afterward to meet AJ Castillo, get a picture and autograph.
