Hop on over to the Ak-Chin Indian Community for a great Easter celebration!

Written by

Easter means it’s time for good times and great food with family and friends. You’ll find just the right setting within the Ak-Chin Indian Community for Easter on Sunday, April 21.

Located within the UltraStar Multi-tainment Center at Ak-Chin Circle, the 347 Grill serves up an Easter brunch that’s sure to please your bunch. Offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the bountiful buffet will include a vast salad bar and fruit display, with fresh-baked pastries and cheeses. Tantalizing breakfast selections include an omelet station, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes and French toast with maple syrup, and waffles with berries and fresh whipped cream.

The buffet will also offer grilled mahi-mahi, pan-seared Chicken Fricassee, and carved top sirloin along with a vegetable medley. Bring your sweet tooth for a mouth-watering selection of cakes and pies and a display of assorted cookies. Adults can dine for $24.99 each, kids ages 5–16 get meals for $16.99 each, and kids under age 5 can eat free. We suggest you make reservations; call us at 520-233-2426.

Another great spot for your Easter brunch is Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. When you can’t decide what you or your group wants to dine on, The Buffet offers something for everyone. If you’re more in the mood for a hearty meal in a comfortable setting, Chop, Block & Brew features a wood-burning mesquite grill. Or Oak & Fork pairs fine wine with quality small plates, with available outdoor seating. For more information about Easter specials and to make reservations, call 480-802-5000.

We bet you’d like to visit Arroyo Grille at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club for a special Easter day menu. Delicious choices include Quiche Lorraine, Eggs Benedict, and French toast for breakfast. If you’re more in the mood for lunch, feast on cider-mustard-glazed pork loin, garlic-and-herb-roasted chicken, or rib eye steak. Your biggest concern will be deciding which option to try! Dessert temptations include New York cheesecake, coconut cake or banana cream pie. Quantities are limited; call 520-426-6832 for reservations. Reservations will be available starting at 9 a.m.

Similarly to the protagonist in *The Devil Wears Prada*, Carolyn moved to New York City right after college. After a few years, she left New York in the rearview mirror and returned to her home state, taking a reporter job at the *Apache Junction Independent*. With over 30 years of freelance writing experience, Carolyn especially enjoys writing about community events and profiling individuals who are making a difference in their communities. She had the pleasure of interviewing a variety of cowboy personalities for an article she wrote for the *Scottsdale Independent* about the history of DC Ranch and its roots as a working ranch. Now, her Western adventures with CLN have her diving into the rugged automotive scene, exploring the trucks and rigs cowboys rely on for work, home, and play, a niche where grit meets horsepower. She works at Raising Special Kids, a nonprofit resource center for families of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Carolyn also volunteers with the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix. Carolyn believes that everyone has a story, and she loves connecting with others to hear their stories. She’s dedicated to ethical journalism and accurate reporting, which shines through in her storytelling.
