Tulsa, OK – Ninja warrior competition is one of the fastest-growing sports in America and is quickly becoming a favorite in Tulsa, OK. And why shouldn’t it be, with one of Tulsa’s own local celebrities now a three-time competitor on the popular American Ninja Warrior show, aired on NBC.
That’s right. Venn Johns, known affectionately by his fans as THE Bull Riding Ninja, is Oklahoma born and raised and a competitor in ANW, Seasons 9, 10 and 11. Johns is also a professional bull rider with the PBR, featuring the world’s best bull riders and “rankest” bulls. Known as the “toughest sport on dirt” with the toughest athletes in sports, bull riding is not for the weak. After competing internationally as a top USA gymnastics athlete, Johns saw an opportunity to add to his sports resume and decided to work at becoming the toughest of the tough and be the oldest PBR bull rider to qualify for World Finals in Las Vegas. After having added bull riding to his sports repertoire, Johns again seized upon a new opportunity to compete in yet another sport and qualified for American Ninja Warrior, Season 9 and again in ANW, Season 10 and Season 11. Johns hopes to compete in American Ninja Warrior, Season 12 for one more chance to reach his goal of “hitting the buzzer” in the ANW Finals in Las Vegas.
Seizing opportunity, running with it and never looking back has been a centerpiece of Johns’ life. Thus, he enjoys the chance to give future competitors and athletes of all ages the same opportunity to reach their dreams. Not content to rest on his laurels, Johns has taken his athletic and business experience and opened a ninja warrior gym of his own in Tulsa, OK, BA Ninja Warrior. BA Ninja Warrior is an American Ninja Warrior style training facility for the encouragement and instruction of functional movement, body awareness and mental fortitude for ANYONE over the age of 4.
With that goal in mind, Johns’ host’s multiple activities and events benefitting athletes and the Tulsa community at large. He works with local schools, US military, civic groups, first responders and more. He has even started his own Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association (UNAA) team at BA Ninja Warrior and will be hosting the third BA Ninja Warrior UNAA Competition this Saturday, September 21st.
This competition, BA Ninja Warrior Gym is partnering with Glocks (Gloves and Socks) for the Homeless, whose mission it is to impact the world by keeping homeless fingers and toes warm in the wintertime. The $5 spectator fee will be waived for spectators who donate a new pair of socks, gloves, lip balm, hand warmers or one-gallon zip lock bags.
