Arizona Game and Fish hosts Outdoor Expo

Written by

Don’t miss the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s 2023 Outdoor Expo on March 25-26! It’s a great place to learn about Arizona’s more than 800 species of wildlife and the science-based methods used to conserve and protect them all.

Earnhardt Auto Centers collaborates with Arizona Game and Fish to promote their monthly podcast, Wild About Arizona, featuring different information about local wildlife. The outdoor Expo is your chance to experience all this wildlife first-hand!

This event will feature everything from animal exhibits and family fishing tanks to trying out firearms in a safe, controlled environment. Also, with displays on off-highway vehicles (OHVs), wildlife watching, archery and more, you might just find a new hobby! Outdoor recreation and conservation groups, government agencies and commercial vendors of outdoor products and services will also participate in the Expo.

It all happens at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, located on Carefree Highway about a half mile west of I-17.

This year, you can reserve your spot in advance to attend the event, and you’ll be entered to win a Canyon Coolers Ultimate Prize Pack! This includes an Outfitter 75-quart cooler, a cooler basket, a clean ice bag, D-funk cooler cleaner, a Canyon Coolers T-shirt, hoodie and hat, and tumblers, stickers and beverage coolers.

Check out Wild About Arizona during your next commute or road trip to learn more about enjoying our great Arizona outdoors. Earnhardt Auto Centers promotes the podcast and other resources and events through social media with the hashtag #ArizonaGameandFishFridays. Earnhardt Auto Centers represents 15 brands at 17 dealerships throughout the Valley. Founder Tex Earnhardt started the company in 1951 with a Chandler-based Ford franchise and was the youngest-ever Ford franchise owner. Over the years, the company expanded and opened more dealerships and affiliates, with Tex at the head. Tex’s straight-shooting style and famous catchphrase, “That ain’t no bull,” endeared him to generations of Arizonans.

Earnhardt Auto Centers is proud to collaborate with Arizona Game and Fish to promote this event and the Wild About Arizona podcast!

Carolyn Sostrom

Carolyn Sostrom is a long-time Arizona resident who loves desert sunsets, warm weather, Zumba, and the Western lifestyle. She attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale and then Arizona State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Similarly to the protagonist in *The Devil Wears Prada*, Carolyn moved to New York City right after college. She started working for the fashion magazine company Conde Nast but never transitioned to the dark side. After a few years, she left New York in the rearview mirror and returned to her home state, taking a reporter job at the *Apache Junction Independent*. With over 30 years of freelance writing experience, Carolyn especially enjoys writing about community events and profiling individuals who are making a difference in their communities. She had the pleasure of interviewing a variety of cowboy personalities for an article she wrote for the *Scottsdale Independent* about the history of DC Ranch and its roots as a working ranch. Now, her Western adventures with CLN have her diving into the rugged automotive scene, exploring the trucks and rigs cowboys rely on for work, home, and play, a niche where grit meets horsepower. She works at Raising Special Kids, a nonprofit resource center for families of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Carolyn also volunteers with the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix. Carolyn believes that everyone has a story, and she loves connecting with others to hear their stories. She’s dedicated to ethical journalism and accurate reporting, which shines through in her storytelling.
