Recently the Askarben Stock Show and Rodeo took place in Omaha, Nebraska from Thursday, September 27 to Sunday, September 30. The majority of rodeo fans probably do not know that the Askarben Stock Show and Rodeo are much more than their name. The event consists of a Professional Rodeo, a 4-H Stock Show, and the Douglas County Fair, that offers educational activities and scholarships that support the region’s agricultural heritage and youth. Activities such as the parade, trail rides, art contests, camps, school tours, and barbecue competitions are just some of the many events that surround the stock show and rodeo event. Also, this PRCA Rodeo undoubtedly pairs the best cowboys with the best stock.
Of course, the Cowboy Lifestyle Network, Ak-Chin Indian Community, and Earnhardt Auto Centers had the opportunity to attend both rodeos that surrounded the event. The first rodeo on Friday night, which was the Askarben Rodeo, consisted of rodeo competitors from local and surrounding areas. The second rodeo on Saturday night was the Wrangler Challenge, which brought in the heavy hitting rodeo athletes from around the world. Just to name a few of the favorites, team ropers Derrick Begay, Trevor Brazile, and Eric Rogers were all there doing what they do best. Barrel racers Fallon Taylor and Mary Walker competed. Kaycee Field and Richmond Champion showed off their skills bareback bronc riding, and bull rider Joe Frost kept his place in the top ten bull riding standings.
The rodeos made little room for error as they were tightly deliberated, very similar to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. On Friday evening, all branches of the military were represented in the arena before the rodeo with an amazing tribute and song, which was followed by a huge applause. On Saturday night after the rodeo, country music duo Dan and Shay performed all of their most popular hits right in the arena. With some of the best vendors and rodeo stock in rodeo, the stock show turned out to be a most enjoyable event for the whole family. In conclusion, the Cowboy Lifestyle Network confirms that every experience was worth every second!
