Battle of the Little Bighorn Reenactment 2016

Custer’s Last Ride Adventure

The Battle of the Little Bighorn, also known as Custer’s Last Stand and the Battle of the Greasy Grass, is easily one of the most famous conflicts in American history.

For over two decades, a reenactment of the historic struggle has been performed on the banks of the Little Bighorn River, following the treacherous journey that led to the conflict.

This year’s event will be hosted by Real Bird Family. The bell rings on the 140th anniversary of the event, specifically on June 25. The reenactment will actually fall around this historic day, when Custer’s Last Stand is revisited on the 24, 25 and 26 of June. The event will be held at Minneconjou Ford and Medicine Tail Coulee. This location is where Custer’s battalion started before troops were sent into battle. The reenactment will take place south of Crow Agency in Montana, between Reno’s Charge & Retreat, Custer’s Last Stand Hill and the Reno-Benteen Battlefield.

Spectators will witness Bvt. Major General Custer and the 7th US Cavalry Troopers meet and class with Indian braves at the Little Bighorn River.

The Battle of the Little Bighorn will showcase the bravery of both sides, their tremendous riding ability and will be a somber reminder of the many sacrifices made to build the West and make this country so great.

The event hosts invite everyone to not just relive Custer s Last Stand, but to take advantage of the many local activities, historical sites, reenactments and other points of interest in Montana, Wyoming and the Bozeman Trail. The trip will be an inspiring and exciting history lesson for the entire family.

No one should be surprised to hear the Cowboy Lifestyle Network will be at the Montana Battle of Little Bighorn. The organization is, as always, a devote follower of all things West that represents the rustic and open lifestyle that helped build this country. As the leading online source and community for everything Western, reps for CLN will be in the bleachers with the rest of you. Also in attendance will be the organization’s long-time partners in all-things cowboy media coverage, Ak-Chin Indian Community (specifically council member Gabriel Lopez) and Earnhardt Auto Centers Road Team.

We hope everyone comes out for the Battle of the Little Bighorn Reenactment 2016 in June. The action starts at 1 p.m., but it’s advised you get out early as seating can go fast.
