Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Battle of the Bras takes the stage Saturday, October 21 for Breast Cancer Awareness

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Cheer on the male members of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, UltraStar Multi-tainment Center and the Ak-Chin Indian Community, as they model their department’s best brassiere designs in the 5th Annual Battle of the Bras Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show.
Each department has chosen their theme and song to showcase their bra to model. Previous years’ themes ranged from superheroes to feathers and glitter. This year, the show will commence on Saturday, October 21 from 6-8PM and is open to all Total Rewards Guests.
Vote for your favorite bra at any Promotional Kiosk from 8AM on Monday, October 16 through 11:59PM on Saturday, October 21. Pictures will be posted by the Promotional Kiosks for guests to view before voting. Guests who choose one of the top three voted on Bras will win Free Slot Play!
This is one of many events to help raise Breast Cancer Awareness among employees and guests of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino and the community. New this year is a Maricopa Rocks activity. Employees can paint rocks with a Breast Cancer Awareness theme. These rocks will be distributed around town as part of a community project where people hide and find decorated rocks all around Maricopa.
A penny wars competition between departments will take place for employees to donate spare change to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Casino departments can also decorate their doors in a Breast Cancer Awareness theme. On Friday, October 20th employees are invited to wear all pink and interact with guests in a “Pink Parade.” Employees are even encouraged to dye their hair pink for the month of October.
In keeping with the pink theme, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is featuring a signature cocktail, the Pink Warrior, with Southern Comfort, amaretto, peach schnapps, cranberry and orange juices with a squeeze of lemon and topped with two cherries for $7.
It’s an abundance of fun for a more serious cause — promoting Breast Cancer Awareness among employees and guests during October. Last year Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino received recognition as the top location for the social media “like” and “share” contest. Remember to take some photos, and post and tag #CaesarsforBCA![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

She had the pleasure of interviewing a variety of cowboy personalities for an article she wrote for the *Scottsdale Independent* about the history of DC Ranch and its roots as a working ranch. Now, her Western adventures with CLN have her diving into the rugged automotive scene, exploring the trucks and rigs cowboys rely on for work, home, and play, a niche where grit meets horsepower. She works at Raising Special Kids, a nonprofit resource center for families of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Carolyn also volunteers with the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix. Carolyn believes that everyone has a story, and she loves connecting with others to hear their stories. She’s dedicated to ethical journalism and accurate reporting, which shines through in her storytelling.
