Best Social Media and Online Digital Strategies at the 2013 NFR

The Legendary Charro and extremely GOOGLE”ABLE” Winning Trick Roper, Tomas Garcilazo, instantly got a 1,000+ likes on CLN’s Instagram at the beginning of #NFR13.

Every December in Las Vegas, cowboys and cowgirls gather in massive droves to be a part of an experience of a lifetime at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The NFR is a unique setting where the toughest leaders in rodeo come to partake in the most aggressive competition the sport has to offer. While at the same time, spectators and fans from around the world all connect to their inner cowboy and are increasingly getting more social.
As a result, more and more WNFR contestants are beginning to understand the importance of social media and are now engaging their fans with a stronger online presence. On the contrary, the greater majority of contestants at the 2013 NFR do not quite grasp the importance of social media as a marketing and relationship-building tool between themselves and their fans, sponsors, etc.
The truth is, Internet presence is key in this day and age and is now very much apart of cowboy culture. Especially considering that Western enthusiasts are able to access the Web easier than ever with their personal computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Cowboy Lifestyle Network urges both cowboys and companies within the Western industry to take the challenge and integrate internet-based destinations and social media into their 2014 digital strategy. For instance, creating a “Fan Page” has become an extremely valuable asset on Facebook. In fact, it has now taken on greater significance by capturing the awareness and strong interest of advertisers, businesses, consumers, and marketers.
Large corporations are now beginning to see the immense value in connecting with their consumer online and are adopting social media and online content strategies into their annual budget. For example, Wrangler Specialty Apparel recently launched their beta site offering streaming videos of select PRCA rodeos, videos, music, and a blog, titled the “Wrangler Network.” After all, prior to recent social media and other online digital strategies, only traditionally-oriented media companies have been able to monetize advertising dollars.
Social is now becoming more visible than ever with channels like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Snapchat. CLN believes being social and Googleable is extremely important in a digital age; after all, social media has many great features and is a beneficial utility for enhancing current relationships and establishing new relationships with rodeo fans.
