Bullfighters Only Returns to Rodeo Scottsdale

Written by

Cowboy Lifestyle Network was lucky enough to catch Bullfighters Only when they passed through Scottsdale the first time, at Barrett Jackson Car Show in January. Now we have the opportunity to see these guys once again come to the Scottsdale Rodeo from March 7-9.

If you were bummed that you couldn’t catch the show at Barrett Jackson, now is the time. Scottsdale Rodeo will be home to BFO for three days during the Parada del Sol celebration at Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona.

You can plan on seeing some of the best bullfighters in the game such as Weston Rutkowski, who is number one in the standings right now, Kris Furr, who is third in the standings and many more! This is the chance to see the toughest dance on dirt up close and personal.

If you are new to the sport of freestyle bullfighting, here’s how it works. There are three main components to each performance, judging, time, and the bull. Each bullfighter has a possibility of 100 points total, 50 for his performance and 50 for the bull’s performance, much like a bull ride but there isn’t anyone riding the bull. Every competitor will 60 seconds to get the job done with the option to be done after 40 seconds without penalty. Finally, the bull itself plays a huge part in this sport. The Spanish Fighting Bull is specifically bred to be engaged and naturally “charge” the bullfighters. All that stands between the bullfighter and the bull is a thin layer of protection.

All of this action is going down March 7-9 at Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona in conjunction with Scottsdale Rodeo. Which is a show all on its own! To check out their full schedule of events, make sure to visit their website. You can catch live updates by following Cowboy Lifestyle Network on Facebook and Instagram. The whole CLN team is looking forward to seeing you!
