[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]From August 15th through the 19th, rodeo fans enjoy all of the thrills and excitement that a PRCA event offers during the unique Caldwell Night Rodeo. The festivities take place at the Caldwell Rodeo Grounds in Caldwell, Idaho. The CNR annually attracts more than 45,000 spectators from Ada County, Canyon County and across the country. The event is considered one of the top 5 large outdoor rodeos in the country.
Caldwell Night Rodeo History
The event began 83 years ago in 1935 as one of the celebrations commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Boise Irrigation Project. The community installed lights on the fair grounds and the first night rodeo was born. Since that time, the CNR has become an annual event, which draws more guests each year. The PRCA welcomes 600 world-class cowboys and cowgirls to the event. All hope to see All Around Champion Paul David Tierney, Bull Riding Champion Jeff Askey and Barrel Riding Champion Sherry Cervi competing in 2017.
Additional Events and Activities
There are many activities for guests to enjoy in addition to the line-up of traditional PRCA events. Each morning, all are welcome to enjoy the Buckaroo Breakfasts. Budding PRCA athletes compete in a junior rodeo. Tuesday is YMCA Family Night. Take the kids to Gabioal Field before the rodeo to learn about the sport and enjoy interactive games. On Friday, all pay tribute to the military during Patriot Night, which includes a flyover by the Warhawk Air Museum and the auction of an autographed flag.
