CBR World Finals at Cheyenne Frontier Days 2017

Written by

Since 1897, Cheyenne Frontier Days has been putting on the grand rodeo they call the “Daddy of ‘Em All.” The largest outdoor rodeo in the world, the CBR World Finals will be back at Cheyenne Frontier Days this July 23-25. This is the culmination of the 2017 Road to Cheyenne Tour, and the end of the weekend will see the crowning of the world champion. The Championship Bull Riding crown is the most prestigious title in the rodeo universe, and fans will be chomping at the bit to get tickets.

10 Days of Fun

The CBR World Finals is the highlight of Frontier Days, but this incredible community celebration in Cheyenne lasts for 10 days of fun from July 21-30. Every day is chock full of fun activities that appeal to all ages. There are pancake breakfasts July 24, 26 and 28. An amazing art show and sale of beautiful Western-themed art is another highlight.

Old Frontier Town is open daily so visitors can get a taste of what the town was like back in days of the frontier. Kids will get a kick out of the characters in Old Frontier Town like Wyatt Earp, Wild Bill Hickok and Buffalo Bill Cody. The Old West Museum and Indian Village are similar attractions that history buffs won’t want to miss.

Adult Entertainment

While the focus is on family entertainment at Frontier Days, there is plenty of adult fun to be had as well. For those who want to quench their thirst, a stop at Buckin’ A Saloon is a must. Open on July 21-20 from 11 am to midnight, Buckin’ A Saloon is the place to go for cheap suds, great live music and fun dancing.

Championship Bull Riding

Of course, the highlight of the event is the 2017 CBR World Finals. The bull riders have shed a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to this weekend with a chance to win the $100,000 prize for being named world champion. The riders aren’t the only ones with a chance at big money. This will also mark the culmination of the Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge, where the contractor who has the best three-bull team is also awarded $100,000.
