The 2021 Chevy Traverse receives additional refreshing and safety features for an all-around update. Since its debut in 2009, nearly 1.3 million Chevy Traverse models have sold in the United States, and in 2019, the Traverse recorded its best sales figures since its inception, according to Top Speed. Top Speed calls the 2021 Traverse “even more aggressive,” and “a good looking SUV.” The update includes a grille split into two parts, resulting in a more proportionate look. LED headlights are sleeker and aligned with the upper quarter of the grille.

For 2020, Chevy offers only the 3.6-liter, V-6 engine with 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The Traverse takes 6.9 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour, and goes up to 130 miles per hour.

According to Chevy, the Traverse delivers 17 miles per gallon in the city, 25 miles per gallon on the highway and 20 miles per gallon combined. Safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, active lane control and automatic high beams.

Inside, Top Speed refers to the Traverse’s three-tier dash as “plush.” The center console hosts the Chevrolet infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Below the infotainment system and HVAC control unit are some USB ports, an auxiliary port, a 12-Volt port and a wireless charging pad. Up to seven USB ports are available among all three rows of the 2021 Traverse, keeping the driver and passengers connected.

Seat up to eight passengers with a second-row bench seat, or add two captains chairs in the middle row to seat up to seven passengers. An available dual skyscape sunroof with a new rear-power sunscreen can make the Traverse even more fun to drive.

As far as space for gear, the 2021 Traverse “shines,” says Top Speed. With all seats in place, the Traverse offers 23 cubic-feet of cargo space. If you flip the third row down, you get 58 cubic feet. Once you lay down the second row, you have over 98 cubic-feet of space, offering plenty of room for hauling stuff.
