CLN 12-20: Highlights video of the Arizona High School Rodeo Association Finals (AHSRA), Payson, Az 2012

Arizona High School Rodeo Association

CLN witnessed a mind-blowing and fearsome group of  High School Rodeo Cowboys and Cowgirls at the Arizona High School Rodeo Association Finals held in Payson, Arizona.  These teenagers made their Rodeo events a sight for sore eyes.  It was as though we were watching the professionals at their best!

J.W. Alford is rated within the top ten (10) rated Bull Riders in Arizona High School and when we asked him if Rodeo was a hobby or a fad for him,  he replied “No it’s not a hobby or fad, you just wake up wanting it”.   J.W.  also stated that when he’s sitting on a bull ready to compete, he clears his mind, thinks of himself and the bull and the eight (8) seconds in front of him…..pretty surreal.

J.W. Alford High School Bull Rider

Waiting to compete, Brandon McCassie, sitting at #1 in Bull Riding, said all he wanted to do is take first place and to take a new saddle home!  The power of positive thinking is contagious with these atheletes and we at Cowboy Lifestyle Network are very proud of each and every one of them.
Father of Bull Rider,  J.W. Alford, Dave Alford told us that he was mostly concerned about the safety of the Cowboys and Cowgirls in the events as they are and can be dangerous.  Dave roots his son on to be the best Bull Rider he can be, for that day.  Families of these atheletes are genuinely supportive and know that Rodeo teaches and influences them with great respect, moral and dignity!
A “special thanks” to Sheplers Western Stores and the  Nathan Dean & the Damn Band.

Music Spotlight:  Nathan Dean & The Damn Band

There have been many attempts to describe Nathan Dean & The Damn Band’s sound.  Ranging from tight, to original, to country with a blues twist, to “the best live band I’ve heard in this venue in 10 years.”   But, the most common description is the one that makes them stand out more than a lot of artists.  “The most laid back, fun loving group of guys that play our establishment.”
