CLN at Western Wishes "8 Seconds to Glory" Charity Event

Written by

What an honor to see the priceless wishes come true for the many fighting spirits that are given no choice but to battle the difficult circumstances of misfortune day by day through the Western Wishes program.

Fortunately, many people living the Western lifestyle become involved with Western Wishes because they are determined to honor these children by making their dreams become a reality.

For those who don’t know about Western Wishes, as described by the Founder and President of Western Wishes, Donnalyn Quintana, it is a one of a kind organization that is dedicated to uplift the spirits of children and young adults who are faced with adversity.

What differentiates Western Wishes from other charities around the world is that it is not solely terminally ill boys and girls who can become Wish Kids, but also children and young adults who can also be treated and hopefully conquer the fight in the end.

Western Wishes honor them by supporting them financially and through special events, in hope to facilitate such inspiration and positively impact the lives of these extremely brave boys and girls who live and love the Western way of life.

“We love to celebrate them getting back in the saddle one day and lifting their spirits.” – Donnalyn Quintana

The Western Wish kids truly bless this earth with their courageousness and strength, while at the same time forever inspiring others on a daily basis, as they touch the hearts of people everywhere.

Western Wishes mission statement is “Leaving a Legacy of Goodwill—The Cowboy Way,” which truly makes this significant growing charity one that will be cherished and highly valued by the Western world forever.

Cowboy Lifestyle Network is privileged to join the launch of the Western Wishes Wyoming Chapter during the awe-inspiring “8 Seconds To Glory” Charity Gala this year at theLittle America Hotel & Resort in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

8 Seconds To Glory: The true story of Lane Frost

Twenty-three years ago, we remember the death of the World Champion Bull Rider, Lane Frost. He died with passion doing what he so dearly loved at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. As a result, the 8 Seconds cast, including the main actors in the 1994 biographical film, Luke Perry, who played as Lane Frost, and also Stephen Baldwin, who played as Tuff Hedeman, reunite after almost a decade for the film’s anniversary.

From exclusive CLN interviews with Donnalyn Quintana, Luke Perry, and Stephen Baldwin, to the red carpet and the Western Wishes Charity Gala, it is an enormous honor to be apart of this historical event. As the red carpet is rolled out for all the attending Western Wish kids and their families’ arrival, the spotlight is shining bright on them as they made their way down the runway with Hollywood stars.

This remarkable showcase truly made these Wish Kids dreams become reality as they receive their very special “Western Wish” on this amazing night. There was nothing but smiles and uplifted spirits in the room simply because these boys and girls are the true stars on the red carpet.

It is very touching to see all the lasting memories made on this night, which will always be apart of them and their individual journeys. Western Wish kids and their families have come to reach this point in their life with the many difficulties they face and we cannot thank everyone involved with Western Wishes enough for everything they do for each and every Wish Kid.

Following the red carpet showcase, everyone begins to gather in the main ballroom for dinner before the commencement of the first annual 8 Seconds To Glory Charity Gala with great anticipation for the launch of the Wyoming Chapter of Western Wishes.

Even the bull riding icon, Tuff Hedeman made a special appearance to the Charity Gala. Following dinner, Donnalyn Quintana took the stage to host this inaugural event and officially announced the launch of the Wyoming Chapter of Western Wishes. The remaining of the night is filled with eye watering testimonies, stories behind the stories, as well as spectacular entertainment from artists such as, Susie McEntire, Susie Dobbs, and American Idol contestant, John Wayne Schulz. Every year from now on, this annual event will have people from the cast members to the characters from the theatrical film 8 Seconds and will continue to grow each and every year. Cowboy Lifestyle Network looks forward to attending the second annual Western Wishes 8 Seconds To Glory Gala next year and we hope to see you there too!
