CLN 12-21: CLN Az. High School Finals 2012 Bareback Riding

Virtually everywhere they go, it appears, these high school bareback riding contestants bring the high level of adrenaline, skills, power, and all around mental toughness to the rodeo.  As soon as the gate is pulled open, these high school bareback riders are released from the chute and are given no choice but to face the many fears that any person would consider a fearful situation.  In other words, a courageous competitor is not worried if his cowboy hat falls off or his chaps come undone, but rather he is focusing on gripping a small riggin handle in order to try to compete and ultimately win this incredibly tough high school rodeo event.
Cowboys participating in this event are expected to ride for eight seconds at the very least in order to qualify to compete, especially if they ever want a real shot at the college and pro level. Though this is simply easier said then done, because as you can see in this video clip of high school contestants, some are not fortunate enough to withstand that eight-second time frame. When this happens, these brave contenders risk being bucked off into the air and landing in awkward positions straight onto the dirt, in a battle to survive, hoping that they are able to escape from the driving force and massive weight of the bucking horse before it tramples them beyond their control.
Ladies and gentlemen, you are witnessing this with your own eyes, so sit back and hold on tight, because these brave cowboys are in for a ride of a lifetime with these untrained bucking horses, by pushing extremes, and stunning their audiences with their toughness and thrilling performances. But as you may know, these high school bareback riders are putting it all on the line, because it takes more than just sitting on mighty horses without saddles and holding on. Many riders, who compete in bareback riding at the youth,high school,college, and pro level, have accumulated the necessary skills, balance, and coördination, in order to steer clear of the dangerous drawbacks. The negative aspects of this bareback riding sport commonly include the extreme risks of injury, such as, arm, back, head, leg, neck, and other gruesome injuries, which does happen folks. The truth is that these high school cowboys have chosen to walk on the wild side so that they can eventually get the opportunity to take part in college and pro bareback riding rodeo events in the future.
