Teton Ridge is proud to announce Cody Johnson as this year’s The American Rodeo halftime show on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Better known as CoJo, he’s known for his energetic performances and electrifying stage presence. Johnson, a former professional rodeo athlete, will be going back to his Texas roots at the Globe Life Field in Arlington for this year’s American Western Weekend.
In December, Cody released Cody Johnson & The Rockin’ CJB Live which was recorded in the middle of back-to-back sold-out shows. In what’s been described as a virtual concert, listeners get to experience the live show over and over again. The album boasts fan favorites, including his current radio single, Human. MusicRow touted it as “a perfect performance like “’Til You Can’t”, but this (“Human”) stunning meditation on frailty and mistakes is just as breathtaking. This man is dusted with the glitter of superstardom.”
“The American is a one-of-a-kind event that offers fans a unique choice – to cheer on rodeo’s finest, champion athletes, or root for the underdog “contenders” chasing a $1 MILLION bonus – through every rodeo, roping, and riding effort! All combined with star-studded music, a western cultural festival, and more.” According to Teton Ridge, “the Contender Tournament Events, formerly known as Qualifiers, from across the country will have widely expanded opportunities at events reaching from coast to coast, running July 2022 through February 2023. The new Contender Tournament events feature larger payouts, culminating in three Regional Final events, with winners advancing onto The American Contender Finals and ultimately, THE AMERICAN Rodeo.”
January kicked off CoJo’s 2023 headlining tour with the entire first month of shows selling out. On tour at select locations with special guests Randy Houser and Jesse Raub Jr, and CoJo will be on the road all over the United States, New Zealand, and Australia through the end of August. Cody is currently nominated at the upcoming iHeart Awards as “New Country Artist” (March 27) and “Support/Special Guest Act of the Year” at the Pollstar Awards (February 22). CoJo’s “‘Til You Can’t” wins Best Country Song at the 2023 Grammys for his first-ever win. For tickets and more information on his tour go to Codyjohnsonmusic.com.
