College Bareback Riding is an event of rodeo in which a cowboy must remain on a horse, bareback for 8 seconds. The horse-mounted cowboy is released from a chute, where the horse then will attempt to get to rider off. The rider has nothing to help him balance but a small handle-like structure called the riggin. This event requires excellent skill, balance, and coordination.
