Throw on those boots ladies and gentlemen because it’s time to “Cowboy and Cowgirl Up” at the 43rd annual Colorado River Round-Up Rodeo! April 5th– 6th, come on out to Needles, California and join Cowboy Lifestyle Network as we kick up some dirt in The Golden State.
Celebrating 43 years of rodeo successes, the Needles Rodeo Association is proud to bring their only local rodeo back to the tri-state area. This Grand Canyon Professional Rodeo Association (GCPRA,) sanctioned event is presented by the Colorado River Medical Center and will feature rodeo events such as Saddle Bronc, Bareback, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, and Breakaway Roping. In addition to these classic events, there will also be Ranch Bronc Riding and a Junior Barrel Race.
The Colorado River Round-Up Rodeo is made a reality each year by the many hard-working volunteers and Board Members who have dedicated their time to make this community event an annual tradition. Through Sponsorship, volunteerism, and donation, The Needles Rodeo Association, a non-profit organization, has been able to send money back into their community, benefiting education, tri-state youth organizations, and scholarships for local high school seniors.
Other events happening during rodeo weekend include a Cornhole and Horseshoe Toss Tournament, live music, an after-rodeo dance, the Colorado River Round-Up Rodeo Queen Crowning, plenty of shopping and food options, as well as a Lil Wranglers Rodeo which includes Mutton Bustin’, Steer Riding, and Junior Barrel Racing.
During your visit to the Colorado River Round-Up Rodeo, make sure to say howdy to the Colorado River Rodeo Royalty! Rodeo Queen Sarah Moulder and Princess, Kayla LaPlante have been hard at work throughout the year promoting their beloved rodeo and the western heritage of Needles, California.
