During the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo the Wright Brothers from Milford, Utah have continued to grow their fan base. The Mayor of North Las Vegas even requested to meet the famous four during the Las Vegas Convention & Authority monthly meeting this week.  The Mayor’s wife is a distant cousin.
Four brothers entered the WNFR all competing in Saddle Bronc Riding. The famous four are making history by being the first four siblings to compete in the same event and all qualify for the WNFR in the same year. Last night during the eliminator pen, the youngest brother, Spencer, won the round with an 85 point ride. Each round pays six places with a nightly payout of just over $61,000.

While Spencer was in the media room interviewing with dozen of journalists his older brother was being taken to hospital.  The highs and lows of riding bucking horses were felt by the famous four last night. Cody injured his left shoulder, which is his rein or lifting hand, when he landed on the shoulder following his 65-point ride on Sutton Rodeos’ Camp Fire in Round 7.  He is third in the WNFR average with 524.5-point score on seven head.  Cody finished third and fourth in Rounds 4 and 5 and he was ranked fourth in the world standings with $130,394 going into Round 8.
In a statement today by the PRCA, “Cody had a left shoulder dislocation that was reduced at the hospital, and when you do that you stretch or tear the actual joint capsule or ligaments around there, and it’s painful,” said Rick Foster, Program Director of the Justin Sports Medicine team.  “When he took the doctored out option (late Thursday afternoon), that meant he was out for two (Rounds 8 and 9).

Spencer won third with 82.5 points on Sweatin’ Bullets from J Bar J paying $11,340.14 and Jake took home $7,968.75 in fourth position with 80.5 points on Gold Coast from Pete Carr’s Classic Pro Rodeo.
Heading into the final two performances the famous four Wright Brothers are sitting in prime positions for the average race.  Spencer is first with 647 points on eight head; Jake in third with 544.5 on seven head; Jesse in fifth with 530 points on seven head and Cody holds onto sixth place with 524.5 points on seven horses.
