The Komatsu Equipment Days of ’47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo presented by Zions Bank will bring out the rowdiest cowboy and cowgirl in all of us. July 19-24th, the $17.5 million-dollar outdoor arena located at the Utah State Fairpark arena, brings the top competitors from around the nation as they compete in an Olympic style format. The eight primary events award gold, silver and bronze medals along with a $1 million- dollar payout and other prizes; $50,000 for gold, $25,000 for silver and $12,000 for bronze.  The semi-final performances take place on July 19, 20, 22, 23. The Gold Medal Round is July 24; all rodeo performances start at 8 PM each night.

Days of ’47 Rodeo

The 2019 Days of ’47 Cowboy Games & Rodeo is an invitational rodeo. Contestants will put their skills to the test in Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Women’s Breakaway Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding. The Olympic style format is eight contestants from each rodeo event from the four semi-final performances, the top two highest scores and fasted times from each event will move on, as will the top two highest times and scores overall. The top ten contestants from each event will compete in the Gold Medal Round.

For the future generation of world champion cowboys and cowgirls, The Days of ’47 Young Guns Rodeo located at the Young Gun’s Arena starts at 4:30 each day. The 5-year-old’s & under there will be competing in a stick horse barrel race and mutton busting.  The 6-17-year-old’s will be competing in the bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and mini/junior bull riding.  Winners from each day will compete in the nightly performance right alongside the pros.

The Fun Zone

Entry is free into Young Living Frontier Fun Zone. There is plenty of fun for the whole family. Open from 4-11 PM, enjoy games, concession stands, a petting zoo and learn the history of the Utah Pioneers, the American Indians, and the mountain men. For the 21 and over guests, beer and wine are sold near the covered pavilion located by the Pioneer Village and enjoy the sounds of live country music; every hour the stage will feature a new artist.
