Come one, come all for the Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo, from February 11th-19th, 2022 in Jackson, Mississippi! If there’s one thing you can count on for this year so far is that there will be a rodeo in Jackson! With two full weekends of livestock shows, rodeos, and concerts, you can’t go wrong with attending this event. Check out all the information below to plan your trip!
If livestock is your jam then you will want to make sure to plan on attending the first part of the Dixie National Livestock Show. With shows featuring everything from dairy cattle to pigs, and horses to Wagyu cattle there is something for everyone to enjoy.
With seven full days of rodeo action, you will want to add one of these days to your itinerary! You can catch all of your favorite cowboys and cowgirls competing in events such as barrel racing, bull riding, tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, and bareback riding.

The Dixie National Junior Round-Up and Open Livestock shows are the heartbeat of the Dixie National and provide Mississippi’s youth and open show exhibitors the opportunity to compete on one of the biggest agricultural stages in the country. This past year, 1,593 youth (1,289 4-H and 304 FFA youth) from across Mississippi participated in the Dixie National Junior Round-Up Livestock Show showing 2,292 head of various livestock including pigs, sheep, cattle, and goats. The 2021 Sale of Junior Champions grossed a total of $390,925 on 45 animals sold, making it the second-highest sale total in the 52-year history of the Sale of Champions and pushing gross sales over the year to over $8 million. Scholarships totaling $60,000 were awarded to 38 students, passing the $1 million mark since the scholarship program was established in 1993. An additional $22,500 in scholarship donations was received, bringing the 2021 total to $413,425 in money to support Mississippi youth.
