One of the best ways to celebrate Labor Day Weekend returns to the Intermountain West region on Friday, September 1 with the 2017 Eastern Idaho State Fair, the Blackfoot Ranch Rodeo and Indian Relays. This regional fair keeps getting bigger and better each year thanks to the growing support from sponsors and enthusiasm from the local community; the activities and events planned for 2017 are nothing less than spectacular.

The Eastern Idaho State Fair is a renowned annual event that combines education with family entertainment and community outreach in an effort to preserve wholesome traditions. At this year’s fair, more than 200 exhibitors and concessionaires will bring their crafts, dairy, livestock, produce, culinary creations, and many other offerings. This is a fair that dates back to the early 20th century; thousands of families from many Idaho counties wait for the end of summer to enjoy all the wholesome fun that makes this event special. Tickets are available online at funatthefair.ticketforce.com/
Free entertainment will be featured on the fairgrounds, in the 4-H building and at the Grandstand Arena from September 1 to the 9. There will be hypnotists, rope tricksters, escape artists, magicians, comedians, equestrian masters, and music performers. Some of the biggest names this year include the legendary and beautiful rocker Joan Jett and her Blackhearts as well as funnyman Jeff Foxworthy and the Rock Bottom Boys.

The Blackfoot Ranch Rodeo starts on Saturday, September 2, with the bull riding championships. The Grandstand Arena will feature the various competitions of the Blackfoot Ranch Rodeo each night starting at 6:30 pm. The classic Indian Relays of the Eastern Idaho State Fair will take place at noon every day; this is an excellent opportunity for those who are not familiar with the excitement of horse racing to learn about wagering. The Indian Relays accept pari-mutuel wagering action, which features a betting pool system designed to split winnings among bettors. These are bareback races that consists of three horses and four riders trying to complete laps; they are part of the rich Native American traditions of Eastern Idaho.

Online coverage of the 2017 Eastern Idaho State Fair will be provided by the Cowboy Lifestyle Network along with the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Earnhardt Auto Centers and Papa John’s Road Team.
