Country singer Josh Turner‘s tour bus carrying his crew members went off an 80-foot embankment when the driver lost control after leaving a show in Paso Robles, California, killing one person and leaving seven others hospitalized.
Turner and his band were following on a separate bus and assisted after the accident Wednesday night. Of the seven injuries reported, two were said to be serious. The single fatality was identified as David Turner, no relation.
David Turner had worked with Josh turner since 2006 as his monitor engineer. David Turner’s long career in country music has included working with such country music legends as Tammy Wynette, Eddie Rabbitt, Conway Twitty, and Hank Williams Jr.
Josh Turner was to perform at Harrah’s Ak-Chin newly built Event Center on September 28th, but it has been canceled as the band recovers from the terrible loss. All of Turner’s shows in September will be rescheduled for a later date.
Once rescheduled, tickets to the original show at Harrah’s Ak-Chin will be honored. A refund process will also be announced at that time for ticket holders that cannot make the rescheduled date.
