The 2023 rodeo season for Hell on Wheels has been one for the books! After record attendance for both fans and competitors, you have one more opportunity to experience the action of a true Western rodeo and Chuck Wagon Dinner. September 8th will be the final date for the Hell on Wheels 2023 season, so make sure to plan your trip now and snag your tickets. Rodeo tickets start at only $25 and you can get the Chuck Wagon Dinner paired with it for only $60 for both! With traditional cowboy food options ranging from brisket and baked beans to potato salad, the cowboy cooks always prepare something delicious!
The Hell on Wheels Rodeo and Chuck Wagon Dinner Series is back for its fourth season, featuring an open rodeo format. This means that anyone can participate in nine different rodeo events by paying the entry fee. In 2022, the season offered a generous payout of over $52,000 to all the cowboys and cowgirls who competed. This year, the season will conclude at the September 8th event and will return again in the summer of 2024. Scroll down to save the dates for next year!
The rodeo includes all of the same events that fans are familiar with but they are enjoyed with a small-town feel! Kids can often feel included in the event with a calf scramble or you can upgrade your ticket to include a behind-the-scenes tour of the rodeo.
Another aspect that makes the Hell on Wheels Rodeo so special is the fact that Visit Cheyenne brings in a nationally renown Chuck Wagon outfit. This means they bring the wagon and Dutch oven cooking for an experience you won’t soon forget. There isn’t anywhere else in the West where you can experience a true Chuck Wagon Dinner followed by a rodeo.
The Hell on Wheels Rodeo continues to be a staple event for not only Cheyenne, Wyoming but for rodeo fans across the country! On my own trip to Hell on Wheels Rodeo, there were fans from as far as New York who came to experience a little slice of Western heaven. The West is alive and well in Cheyenne, Wyoming, so saddle up for your next adventure, Cheyenne is calling!
From all of us here at Cowboy Lifestyle Network, we have had a blast covering this rodeo this season and can’t wait for the next season. Make sure to follow Visit Cheyenne on your favorite social media platform to catch all of the updates on upcoming events!
