Mounted Shooting

Mounted Shooting is one of the most exhilarating equestrian sports to watch, and the Flagstaff Pro Rodeo will feature an entire action-packed weekend of it! There will be a shootout on September 16th-18th, and there will also be a half-time show performance during the rodeo on the 26th.

For those who are new to the sport of Mounted Shooting, the rules are simple! Contestants are required to ride a pattern where they attempt to shoot 10 balloons as quickly as possible. The cowboys and cowgirls competing in the timed event use two .45 caliber single-action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition. It’s no wonder why this sport is a crowd favorite! Visit cmsaevents.com to learn more about Mounted Shooting.

Flagstaff Pro Rodeo Royalty

The role of a rodeo queen is a female representative that serves as the “face” of the sport of rodeo and an advocate for the western lifestyle. The Flagstaff Pro Rodeo Queen and Teen Queen travel to PRCA rodeos around the state of Arizona and within the Turquoise Circuit. She is a representative, spokeswoman, and ambassador for western heritage and good values while educating the public about the rodeo world, particularly that of the PRCA. She is a role model for young children, demonstrating good character and integrity.

Make sure to catch all the contestants compete for the 2021/2022 year during rodeo weekend. Who will be the next Queen and Teen Queen? We can’t wait to find out! A huge thanks to the 2019-2021 girls that represented Flagstaff Pro Rodeo through unprecedented times, Queen – Ashlee McCarron and Teen Queen – Kadence Slade.
