With so many rodeos to choose from, and so many options for family entertainment around Independence Day. The Greeley Stampede continues to stand out as a premier choice for those in the Rocky Mountain region.
Slowly creeping up on its 100th anniversary, this 98th edition of the Greeley Stampede continued to raise the bar in all aspects of the event. Each year I’m impressed with the growth and expansion of the event, this year was no different. Over the 11 days The Greely Stampede Covers, it’s safe to say, they have something for everyone.
If you are looking for classic cowboy action, the world-class PRCA rodeo, Extreme Bulls, and Team Roping Classic are all sure to excite. Faith-based events Cowboy Church, stampede mass, and the annual concert. The demolition derby, classic carnival and midway, and 4th of July fireworks are always fan favorites.
The thing I was most impressed with this year, was the night show lineup. Night Shows Chairman, Trent Johnson (Mr. Greeley Hat Work) brought in one of the best lineups this event has ever seen. Classic rockers REO Speedwagon started off the stampede with a bang. Country superstars Kip Moore, Brothers Osborne, and Brett Eldredge all rocked the stage. However, the highlight of the group was a magical show by Cody Johnson, after a long rain delay he made sure to give fans in Greeley a memorable night.
Another unique thing I believe this event does better than just about anyone else in the park stage (free to anyone with grounds admission). This large stage is in a perfect park setting and showcases not only national acts like Lonestar, Koe Wetzel, and The Eli Young Band but the best local and regional artists as well.
Overall, I can’t find a bad thing to say about The Greeley Stampede. If you are in or around Colorado next Independence Day, put this event on your calendar.
