Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2022

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is right around the corner! The countdown is on, mark your calendars for this one-of-a-kind rodeo on February 28 – March 20, 2022, at the NRG Stadium right in the heart of Houston, Texas. Rodeo Houston will be filling up the city with a whole lot of western heritage with this outstanding event of the year. The time is now to throw on your boots and cowboy hats and get ready to head on down because it’s almost rodeo time.

This will be the 90th anniversary of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It has grown to be the world’s largest event of its kind and has been going strong since 1932! This event provides the best-of-the-best for all rodeo and livestock fans of all ages. Rodeo Houston has played a notable role in enhancing thousands of lives of young people in Texas. Since its beginning in 1932, the Rodeo has committed more than $550 million to Texas youth and education.

Pre-Rodeo Events

Not only is the rodeo bringing in the best-of-the-best cowboys and cowgirls to compete but there will be pre-rodeo events to help kick off this spectacular event. These will be ticketed and free events for the public. Come join the fun before the action-packed rodeo even begins with a bar-b-que contest, best bites competition, ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, a parade, trail rides, a wine show, and an auction. For more information on pre-rodeo events please click here.

Rodeo Houston

Rodeo Houston is comprised of two different competitions including the Super Series and the Super Shootout®: North America’s Champions, presented by Crown Royal. There is a total of $2.17 million payouts for both competitions. There’s an average of 1.37 million fans attending and more than 360 contestants competing. Special Days & Events

There will be special days and events during this fantastic event. Houston is known to be the nation’s fourth-largest city and is home to a diverse range of demographics and cultures. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo are having several special days throughout the rodeo to celebrate what makes this city so unique. There will be Armed Forces Appreciation, Black Heritage Day, First Responder Day, Go Tejan Day, International Days, and Special Needs Events. Music & Concerts

Get ready for music and concerts! Each night after the rodeo chutes close and once the dirt settles, a state-of-the-art stage and production make way. There is an outstanding lineup with top music artists around! There will also be Rodeo Rockstar which is presented by Whataburger. The competition is free and open to non-professional singers.

First-place winners in each division will receive a $1,000 cash prize, a day in a professional recording studio, an invitation to ride and perform on the show’s entertainment float in the 2023 downtown rodeo parade. Plus one free Whataburger per week for a year. Experience the Hideout March 1-19, 2022 where you can dance the night away at Rodeo Houston’s very own honky tonk. Livestock & Horse Show

Rodeo Houston is also bringing in the livestock & horse show. There have been more than 34,000 livestock and horse show entries recorded. The rodeo hosts several international competitors as well as exhibitors of all ages from across Texas that are trying for a chance to become a Houston champion. Attractions & Activities

There will be plenty of attractions and activities that the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo have to offer! The heart of this spectacular event here is agriculture.
