Youth Rodeo Action Right Next Door

One of the most exciting additions this year: the YETI Junior National Finals Rodeo (Junior NFR).

  • For the first time, the Junior NFR will take place in a custom-built 65,000 square foot tent adjacent to the Convention Center (in the Platinum Lot).
  • It features 700+ of the best young rodeo athletes (19 and under) competing in nine events: bull riding, bareback, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, breakaway (girls & boys), pole bending, and barrel racing.
  • It’s a rare chance to see “rodeo’s next generation” up close, and the atmosphere is electric.

“I absolutely love shopping at Cowboy Christmas. Not only do I get some shopping done, I run into many friends and family along the way. And the shopping doesn’t stop at Cowboy Christmas. There are other shopping locations I can’t miss; Stetson Country Christmas at Rio Las Vegas, Roper Cowboy Marketplace at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Cinch Western Gift Show at South Point Las Vegas. You just never know who you will run into!”

Pro-Tip: How to Conquer Cowboy Christmas

A word of advice for the cherished first-time attendee: the sheer scale of Cowboy Christma, the 500,000 square feet, the 350+ vendors, and the non-stop action can be quite overwhelming. We highly recommend pacing yourself to avoid burnout. To make the most of your precious time and ensure you don’t miss a thing, try this strategy: Break it Down.

Avoid the Parking Nightmare: Arrive Stress-Free

Don’t let the logistics of parking steal a single moment of your holiday cheer. Since Cowboy Christmas is a blockbuster event, parking at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) can be challenging and time-consuming, leading to unnecessary frustration.

  • The Early Bird Wins: The simplest way to save time and secure a spot is to Arrive Early, well before 9 a.m.
  • The Underground Secret: For a genuinely smooth and efficient start, utilize the innovative Vegas Loop via the underground tunnel. It’s quick, fun, and bypasses surface traffic entirely! This underground Tesla transportation system connects the LVCC directly to major resorts! You can quickly and effortlessly access the Convention Center from:
    • Resorts World Las Vegas
    • Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino
    • Encore Las Vegas
  • Embrace the Rideshare: Taking a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) is an excellent way to be dropped off near the entrance, saving you the walk and the hassle of navigating the massive parking lots. Start your adventure with ease!

Dress for Success and Comfort!

To ensure your day is filled with joy, not aches, prioritize smart apparel.

  • Layer Up for Relief: While the Las Vegas Convention Center is climate-controlled, the massive halls can feel inconsistent, and you’ll generate a lot of heat while walking. Wearing layers of clothing is the key to maintaining perfect comfort. Start with a light base and include a jacket or vest you can easily take off and carry. No one wants to miss out on meeting a champion because they’re too hot or too cold!
  • Show Your Feet Some Love: This is not the place for brand-new or high-heeled boots (unless they are truly broken in!). You will be walking, standing, and browsing for hours across concrete floors. Comfortable, supportive shoes are non-negotiable. Happy feet mean you have the stamina to discover one more hidden gem and secure the best holiday deals!
  • The Ultimate Western Workout: Cowboy Christmas spans over 500,000 square feet. Be sure to wear your favorite fitness wearable (watch, phone app, etc.) to track all your steps! You’ll easily clock a personal fitness victory, and trust us, you’ll have truly earned that festive treat at the Bites & Brews cart.

Pace Yourself and Plan Ahead

  1. Day 1 (Scout): Focus on the main interactive areas (Ariat Rodeo Live Stage, Cinch Cowboy Commons) to soak in the atmosphere and map out your must-see vendors. Walk both levels to get the lay of the land.
  2. Day 2 (Shop): Hit the booths you marked down, focusing on one floor (Level 1 or Level 2) at a time to avoid retracing steps and ensure a thorough browsing experience. This is your main shopping day.
  3. Day 3 (Soak it In): Use this day for last-minute purchases, spending more time at the Cowboy Christmas Village for photos, and watching the Junior NFR. Treat it like a fun marathon, not a sprint, and you will leave feeling recharged, not exhausted.

This isn’t just about buying gifts. It’s about celebrating a tradition, connecting with a community, and making memories. Whether you’re a longtime NFR attendee or someone who’s never set foot in a cowboy boot, Cowboy Christmas is worth the trip. So mark your calendar for December 4–13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and plan to experience the heart and soul of NFR through its most joyful, creative, and energetic event. You’ll leave inspired, stocked up with unique finds, and (if you play your cards right) maybe even a winner.
