It’s Time for the Cave Creek Rodeo Days!

Written by

The rodeo arena and chutes are primed and ready for the excitement to start on March 25th through the 27th for the Cave Creek Rodeo Days. The Cave Creek Memorial Arena is the center of the action for this rodeo that’s been happening since 1977. Rodeo is a sport that continues to be alive and well in the southwest and is definitely a staple in Cave Creek, Arizona. This equine-centric suburb of Phoenix comes to life during these few days at the end of March, celebrating not just this year’s rodeo but also the history of this rodeo and Arizona’s heritage and legacy.

The Cave Creek Rodeo Days, Inc. is a non-profit philanthropic organization that supports Western culture and traditions. This group put on an award-winning rodeo and are also are focused on supporting charitable organizations and assisting the town of Cave Creek with the maintenance and improvement of the Cave Creek Memorial Arena, which is used year-round and benefits the whole community and state.

The build-up to the rodeo kicks off a week before, with the rodeo parade happening on Saturday, March 19th on Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek, followed by the Cave Creek Rodeo Days Kick-Off Dance sponsored by the Buffalo Chip. The golf tournament, which supports the philanthropy work of the Cave Creek Days Rodeo Association, is slated for Monday, March 21st, at The 500 Golf Club.

  • Friday, March 25th, kicks off the rodeo performances with gates opening at the Cave Creek Memorial Arena at 5pm and the first rodeo performance starting at 7:30pm.
  • Saturday, March 26th, gates open at 5pm, with the rodeo performance starting up at 7:30pm. Stick around for the Official Cave Creek Rodeo Days Dance sponsored by Harold’s Corral at 9pm.
  • Sunday, March 27th, is the last day of the big show and features one of the biggest events, the Mutton Bustin’. Today’s rodeo performance gates open at 12:30pm, and the show starts at 2pm.
