On May 10, rodeo fans from across Arizona converged in Kingman for the D2 Xtreme Bulls event in Kingman, Arizona. Located just an hour and a half from Las Vegas, Kingman is on the edge of the state of Arizona.

At the Mohave County Fairgrounds, bull riding enthusiasts watched 39 of the top bull riders get on some of the best stock from across the United States. The bull riding brought in fans from the surrounding areas to watch man versus beast in the toughest sport on dirt.

Stock contractors such as Honeycutt Rodeo Co and Western Rodeos brought the heat with only a handful of qualified rides throughout the night. In fact, most of the bull riders only lasted a couple of seconds out of the gate before the bulls dispatched them, proving that some of the best stock was in attendance.

Some of the best bullfighters were at the Xtreme Bulls as well. Joe Butler, Erick Schwindt and Luke Kraut kept the bull riders safe, throwing some freestyle into the mix as well as some work with the barrel, which is something that is not usually seen at rodeos these days, adding a refreshing touch to the normal bull riding scene.

At the beginning of the event, there was a salute to those who had served in the armed forces, with over 12 different men and women being honored for their service in the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force. The event was dubbed the Kingsmen Patriot Xtreme Bulls in honor of those men and women who served, but also in memory of those who gave their lives for their country along the way.

At the end of the night, Chris Roundy from Spanish Fork, Utah, took it all home with an 83.5 point ride on Western Rodeo’s “Magic Time.” There were plent of spills, thrills and high-flying action.
