No two words get the cowboy community buzzing quite like “Rodeo” and “Las Vegas.” But while the NFR won’t be back until December 2019, Las Vegas still has some Pro-Rodeo action up its sleeve. Throw on those boots, because the PRCA is bringing even more rodeo fun to The City of Lights. Saddle up with Cowboy Lifestyle Network as we head to the 2019 Las Vegas Days Rodeo and Helldorado Parade!
This May 10th and 11th, the Las Vegas Days Rodeo (formerly known as Helldorado Days,) will be hitting the streets in downtown Vegas. Proudly hosted by the Las Vegas Centennial Committee and Plaza Hotel, the Las Vegas Days Rodeo will provide the best-of-the-best when it comes to Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, and Bareback Riding.
With stock from Bar T Rodeo and Copper Springs Ranch, fans can cheer for their favorite human and animal athletes alike! The rodeo will take place at 5pm on both Friday and Saturday at the CORE Arena, an outdoor arena conveniently located just steps away from the Plaza Hotel.
The best part about Las Vegas Days? Admission is completely free! Just make sure to RSVP here! From the youngest buckaroo to the retired cowboy, this all-ages event invites visitors from near and far to enjoy a little slice of Nevada’s western heritage.
The rodeo isn’t the only entertainment you can find at Las Vegas Days. From shopping, fashion, giveaways, and trick riding shows, there is no shortage of fun for the entire family to enjoy. Make sure to check out another integral part of Las Vegas Days, The Helldorado Parade!
The Helldorado Parade, first held in 1934, will kick-off at 10am sharp on Saturday, May 11th. Hit the parade route early and grab the best seat in the house! The parade will take place on the Fourth Street parade route from Gass Avenue to Ogden Avenue and will feature colorful floats, equestrian teams, marching bands, various clubs, hot-rods, and much more!
Celebrating 85 years, Las Vegas Days is proud to uphold an integral part of Las Vegas’ history. In an interview, with 840 KXNT, PRCA CEO George Taylor states,
“It’s great to see the Las Vegas Days Rodeo hit 85 years. We are happy to again welcome Las Vegas Days to the PRCA’s fold of 650 rodeos.”
With Vegasnews.com, Jonathan Jossel, Plaza Hotel & Casino CEO shares,
“Las Vegas Helldorado Days were a long-held tradition, and we are excited to welcome the rodeo back home to downtown Las Vegas this year. We are proud of our history and now with the Plaza’s Core Arena, we can pay homage to our western roots while offering an unforgettable experience for today’s residents and visitors. We appreciate the support of the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial and look forward to working with the city of Las Vegas on creating an exciting rodeo event that brings our community together where Las Vegas got its start – downtown Las Vegas.”
