[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In early June, The Lounge at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino hosts two great shows — a George Strait tribute group and another band that showcases 1980’s tunes. Concerts are free and fun for all guests age 21 and older, so don’t miss out! The Troubadour Experience brings its George Strait tribute to The Lounge on Friday, June 2, with shows at 8 pm and 10 pm. The Troubadour Experience band plays number-one hits and favorites from George Strait’s career of more than 30 years. Tunes include “Fool Hearted Memory,” “All My Exes Live in Texas,” “Ocean Front Property,” “The Chair,” “Here for a Good Time,” and more. With the lead singer’s presentation and the band’s showmanship, you’ll feel like you’re at a George Strait concert!
Band members bring real passion and love for traditional country music. Individual band members have opened for or been part of national acts such as The Gatlin Brothers, Gary Allen, Tracy Lawrence, Pat Green, Mark Wills, The Bellamy Brothers, Tracy Byrd, Chris Ledoux, Deana Carter, and Blackhawk. Don’t miss this incredible show! Then, on Saturday, June 3, the band Checker’d Past takes the stage from 8 pm to 1 am. If you love 1980’s music, you’ll love this show! Hailing from Yuma, band members have all played together for years and recently discovered a mutual love for ’80s music, resulting in forming the band Checker’d Past. The group performs lots of favorites from well-known 1980s one-hit wonders such as Men at Work, Madness, Thomas Dolby, and Modern English, along with favorite tunes from the bands Duran Duran, David Bowie, Devo, and more. Come and check out their show — it’ll be totally awesome! Concerts at The Lounge offer an intimate experience, with seating for about 50 people set up on the dance floor. Guests can also congregate in the casino area just outside The Lounge to enjoy shows. The featured drink of the month for June is Vanilla Escape, with Absolut Vanilla, pineapple juice, a splash of sour and a splash of raspberry liqueur. Sip this fun concoction for only $5 – it’s available on the casino floor and in The Lounge bar only. Make a night of it with dinner first at one of the great restaurants within Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. Enjoy dinner and drinks at The Range Steakhouse, open from 4-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Or check out the spread at The Buffet, including the Seafood Buffet available from 4-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
